Tour of the City

Tour of Maricopa, Arizona driving down Maricopa Road. The city is located one hour south of Phoenix.

The Video tour of Maricopa goes down the main street and go by a Tutor Time Child Care, McDonald's, Fry's Food, Maricopa Market Plaza, Auto Zone, Shasta Pools, Panda Express Chinese Food, Jack in the Box, Carl's Junior, Bashas' Supermarkets, Circle K , Walgreens, gas station, CVS Pharmacy,



I filmed this during rush hour traffic in the afternoon. It was very smooth driving down the roads. I was amazed at all the shops, restaurants, gas stations, and shopping centers.

The last time I was in Maricopa was a few years ago to take the Amtrak Sunset Limited from Maricopa to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and back. The Maricopa Amtrak train station is located next to the railroad tracks as you enter Maricopa.

Today it looks like one booming city!

SR 347 Rush Hour Traffic

State Route 347 is bumper to bumper with traffic heading southbound to Maricopa, Arizona. A two car traffic accident caused the traffic to slow.

State Route 347, also known as Maricopa Road, SR 347, and John Wayne Parkway, is a north-south state highway near the City of Maricopa.



State Route 347 stretches 28.50 miles from its northern point at Interstate 10 south of Chandler south to its junction with State Route 84 near Stanfield, Arizona.

I am driving northbound on Arizona State Route 347 between Maricopa and Chandler, Arizona. A yellow warning sign on the right side of the road appears warning of a photo enforcement zone. I soon drive by the DPS photo radar vehicle parked in the center median of the highway.



The Arizona Department of Public Safety has a brand new, statewide photo enforcement program. One of the first locations is along State Route 347.

Realtor Dies in Car Accident

Ray Morrow, 40, died late Tuesday night while driving in the Hidden Valley area. 85239 news is reporting that indications are that he was southbound on Warren Road and lost control of his vehicle, causing the vehicle to swerve off the road and roll twice, hitting several large cacti and a tree.

Ray Morrow who was co-owner of Fortuna Land & Realty, planned on developing the Hidden Valley area into the North Scottsdale of Pinal County.

On Tuesday Fortuna Land and Realty will hold a memorial service for Morrow, who is survived by a brother in Kansas and his mother in California. Those interested in attending the service should contact Kelly Kammer at maricopakelly@aol.com for more information.
